The Alabama Association of Fire Chiefs relies on the experience, leadership and service of its members to advance Alabama's fire service. These appointments support the Association's governance, advocacy, programs, partnerships and representation throughout the state.

Turning shared priorities into coordinated action

During the 2026–2027 year, AAFC will focus on the issues that directly affect fire departments, fire service leaders and the communities they serve. The Executive Board, committees and appointed representatives will work together to advance these priorities, share useful information and strengthen AAFC's statewide partnerships.

Recruitment & Retention
Support departments as they recruit, develop and retain the people needed to serve their communities.
Funding & Advocacy
Represent the needs of Alabama's fire service and strengthen communication with decision-makers and partner organizations.
Training & Leadership
Expand opportunities for professional development and encourage the next generation of fire service leaders.
Health, Wellness & Safety
Promote resources and practices that support firefighter health, wellness, safety and long-term readiness.
Member Engagement
Create more ways for members to contribute ideas, participate in committee work and connect across regions.
Communication & Partnerships
Share timely information and strengthen cooperation among departments, regional associations and statewide partners.
